Legends Of Tomorrow: Sarah Grey Cast As Stargirl

As all our favorite DC shows ramp up for their seasons to begin only two months from now the casting news continues to pour in. This latest casting sees Sarah Grey, who will appearing in the 2017 Power Rangers movies, take on the role of Stargirl aka Courtney Whitmore, which IGN revealed today.

In the finale of Season One of Legends of Tomorrow, we were introduced to Hourman, who in season two will lead the Justice Society of America along with teammates Stargirl as well as the as-yet-to-be-cast Dr. Mid-Nite and Obsidian. Grey will be the second actress to play Stargirl, the character has also appeared in a few episodes of Smallville played by Britt Irvin.

For those unaware, Stargirl was the second Star-Spangled Kid who took the shorter name when she was given the cosmic staff by Jack Knight. Geoff Johns created this character based on his sister of the same name and given a comparable personality. Johns’ sister passed away in the explosion of TWA Flight 800 in 1996. Star Girl’s first appearance can be found in Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #0 published in July 1999. Stargirl also boasts enhanced agility and strength thanks to her cosmic converter belt.  The latest iteration of Star Girl can be found in Justice League United.
