Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 will be introducing DC’s iconic Justice Society of America as we met Patrick J. Adams (Suits) who debuted as Rex Tyler a.k.a. Hourman, in the Season 1 finale when he introduced himself to Rip Hunter and his group. A few weeks before then, we had learned that two new characters were being cast as series regular for Season 2, with one being described as followed:
“A male in his late-20s to mid-30s is being sought to play a guy who grew up in the shadow of his World War II hero grandfather and has used a Han Solo-like facade to conceal his insecurity — until, that is, the development of super powers enables him to love up to his family legacy.”
After weeks of speculation, we finally know who the mystery man is and who will be playing him. Deadline announced today that Nick Zano joined the show as a series regular as he has been cast as Nate Heywood, also known as Citizen Steel in the DC Comics lore, a member of the JSA. Here’s how Warner Bros. TV describes the show’s take on Citizen Steel.
“Dr. Nate Heywood, a historian whose grandfather was Commander Steel, a member of the Justice Society of America.”
The only character we are waiting to hear about now is who will be playing the new Vixen who will be someone connected to Mari McCabe (Megalyn E.K.) and it’s most likely her that this character description is all about:
“Also being cast for Legends Season 2 is the female member of an elite paramilitary team living in the 1940s. An African-American, she is scrutinized in her time for both her gender and race and thus has worked twice as hard to be a perfect soldier. That said, she blames herself for — and aims to avenge — the death of a team member for whom she had repressed feelings.”
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 is set to premiere this fall sometime in October on The CW on Thursday nights at 8/7c.
