We have news, and it’s the news lots of us have secretly (and not so secretly) been hoping for most of this season – TVLine reports Matt Ryan’s Constantine is going to be a series regular for Season 4 of Legends of Tomorrow! There still hasn’t been an official pick up order by The CW for any of its Arrowverse shows, so assuming Legends is picked up again, this will be the case.
Ryan, who originally played Constantine on the NBC’s Constantine which was cancelled (much to the fan’s dismay) after one season appeared in the Arrowverse for the first time back in the 4th season of Arrow, where he helped Waverider Captain Sara Lance regain her soul, and then appeared in the Legends episode “Daddy Darhkest.” Constantine will appear again on tonight’s episode, “Necromancing The Stone,” and make yet another appearance in the season finale.
Constantine’s return was very much celebrated by fans, and his appearance tonight is much anticipated to be crucial to helping Sara fight off Mallus. Ryan, forever committed to the character, also voices Constantine on the upcoming CW Seed animated Constantine show, which premieres March 24th.
Legends have been holding steady in viewers and rating, and The CW has recently announced it will be filling a Sunday slot of programming as well- so this announcement is probably a good sign for the future of the show.
We will find out for sure soon.
